Licknbounce Boxers, Fort Wayne, Indiana - San Diego California

You can see Molly and Jake's puppies growing up on Facebook under Molly and Jake's puppies (group).  It's a good way to see what the pups will look like as they grow.

We are moving to San Diego, California in late summer depending on when Molly and Jake's puppies are born and ready to go to new homes.  When you read this site you will see that we do not ship our puppies on airplanes but with this new move, we will be able to deliver puppies all the way across the western states.  We often travel with our dogs and think it will be one more good learning time for the puppies also.  This will give each of you the oppurtunity to get a Boxer from another area of the U.S. (a larger pedigree pool) and get to see and meet both of the parents when you get delivery of your pup.

About Molly and Jake

Our Business

Our business is also our joy.  We raise 2 great Boxers, Molly and Jake.  Molly is a beautiful Flashy Brindle color and Jake is a very handsome Flashy Fawn color.  We know their puppies are very nice looking.  More than that, we raise our dogs as part of our family.  They are well socialized with people and other dogs.

Colors

Boxers come in 3 colors.  Fawn, Brindle or white with black masks.

The fawn color can range from deep fawn to a dark deer red fawn.

Brindle colors can be golden, fawn, red, dark or 'reverse'.  Stripes on a brindle boxer (Flashy) should run parallel to the ribs and destinct in striping.  Brindle stripes too close together or only single stripes recognizable are not as desireable.  Colors intermingled or unattractive white marking such as, the whole head or one side of the head are not desired.

White boxers are cute and adorable and make great family pets but should not be breed and are not shown except in agility or obediance

.  Owners of white boxers need to take care in sun as the white Boxer is known to get sunburned.

There is no such thing as a black Boxer.  To get a black Boxer, the dog must be mated with another breed.  'Reverse' brindle Boxers may look quite dark but still must have distinctive stripes that are well defined.

Boxers must have the black 'mask' that is well known to the Boxer breed.  A small amount of white on the head such as a stripe is very acceptable.

White markings should not cover more than 1/3 of the body of a Boxer.  White feet are common but should be at the toes or not higher than the knee.

Boxers!

The Boxer is a muscular, short-coated, square-headed dog with tight skin and a docked tail. Males stand 22.5-25 inches at the withers and weigh about 70-75 pounds. Females are a bit smaller at 21-23.5 inches and about 60-65 pounds.

Boxer ears are generally cropped in the United States, but more and more pet owners opt for the uncropped, hang-ear look.  In Europe, they are not cropped.

The Boxer nose is broad, and the top of the muzzle appears slightly pushed in, leaving the jaw a bit undershot — the lower jaw protrudes beyond the upper jaw and curves slightly upward. The blunt muzzle leaves him susceptible to hot, stuffy conditions and can cause wheezing and snorting.

The only acceptable body color in the standard is fawn, and the only acceptable pattern is brindle. White markings on muzzle, chest, belly, feet, neck, and inner legs are permitted to cover up to one-third of the body. The face must have a black mask, but a white blaze-line is permitted from the muzzle upward between the eyes.

The fawn can range from light tan to mahogany; the brindle must show clearly defined black stripes on a fawn background. White, mostly white, and black dogs are disqualified from the conformation ring but can be registered and can compete in obedience and agility.

The Boxer is an athletic dog with a smooth, graceful, ground-eating stride. He has a well-angulated rear with long haunches for great power. His back remains level when he moves for efficiency and endurance.
