Molly and Jake. Molly at 1.5, Jake at 1 year

Watch them grow!

Molly had her first litter on March 25, 2009.  She is getting all the love and care we can give her.  She seems to want to sit on Steve's lap whenever he will sit down.  Sometimes she even corners Alexis for some lap time.  Of course Jake thinks this is great fun and attempts to join in.  This can be an ordeal because they are both over 60 lbs.  In this web site you will find a lot of information on Molly and Jake and their breed.  These two dogs couldnt be more different.  What do I mean by that?  Well Molly is a lap dog and would prefer to spend most of her time on Steve's lap.  Jake is very inquistive but shy also.  That means he may bark but then he goes and hides behind us.  Both dogs absolutely LOVE kids!  I think it's because they have similar personalities to kids and they are constantly learning.  I've had other breeds in the past but this is by far the smartest.  Molly and Jake were both born in 2007.  Molly was born in March of 2007.  We absolutely loved Mollly and began to realize how great Boxers are with people.  We decided to get another Boxer.  Jake was born in Oct. 2007.  Molly is a beautiful Brindle with stripes that are well marked and defined.  Jake is a Fawn color with a face everyone loves.  Both have a very loving personality and enjoy being around people.  Our dogs, or "kids" as Steve calls them live in our house.  They love to go out to play but would rather spend time with us after that.  Molly is an avid treadmill lover, Jake loves to paw at it.  Our dogs are never in a kennel/pen.  They live with us in our home as will any of their pups.

Molly and Jake's first litter was 10 puppies.  They lived with us in our home from their first moments alive.  Molly is an exeptional "mom" and took great care of a very large size litter.  She was able to do it all herself and we did not have to suppliment any feedings.  Jake was very interested in the puppies but for a few weeks, Molly would not allow him access to the puppies.  He would come as close as he could and smell the puppies.  Over time, Molly let Jake get closer and interact with the puppies.  Often when we would take them outside, Jake would be playing with a few of them, and Molly with a few.  It was great to see them interact and to actually see them teaching the puppies.  One great advantage for the puppies was to have both male and female adults around to learn from.  They learned the limits the adult dogs would allow and also how to play well with many many siblings.

We were very blessed with a great combination of features from both Molly and Jake into their puppies.  We are considering breeding Molly and Jake together one more time.  However, our biggest concern is the health of both Molly and Jake.  Because of that, we do not have a timeline for their next litter.  We do not expect the next litter until at least January of 2010.  This will allow both of them to train for shows a bit more and for Molly to recoup and regain her great muscular build.  We believe it is one of the reasons she did so well with her large litter.  She is looking forward to being back on the treadmill and often stands and looks at it waiting to get on.  Jake is happy to have his playmate back too!
